Abstract

The organizing committee of the 26th World Congress of the International Society for Medical Shockwave Treatment (ISMST 2024) invites you to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations. The topics of interest of the ISMST 2024 are as follows:

• Basic research in ESWT
• Musculoskeletal ESWT indications
• ESWT in Neurology
• Pain management
• ESWT in Urology
• ESWT in wounds, scars & lymphatics.
• ESWT in Sports Medicine
• New Developments

GENERAL INFORMATION & DEADLINES

1. Abstracts must be submitted electronically via the online submission system by 29 February 2024. Abstracts received via e-mail or after the deadline will not be accepted and therefore will not be considered for the program or publication.

2. The number of submitted abstracts per presenting author is not limited.

3. A preferred presentation method should be selected during the submission from the following options:

• Oral Presentation
• Poster Presentation

4. Authors’ abstracts may be submitted to one of the following topics:

I.    Basic Research in ESWT
II.   Musculoskeletal ESWT Indications
III.  ESWT in Neurology
IV.  Pain Management
V.   ESWT in Urology
VI.   ESWT in Wounds, Scars & Lymphatics
VII.  ESWT in Sports Medicine
VIII. New Developments

5. All abstracts will be reviewed by the ISMST Scientific Committee which will consider the formal aspects and content. They will decide which abstracts will be accepted and may reconsider the final presentation type.

6. Accepted abstracts will be published in the congress program and the Abstract Book.
7. All presenting authors will receive an acceptance/rejection notification via e-mail by 1 April 2024.

8. All presenting authors are obliged to register and transfer the registration fee by 30 April 2024. If the presenting authors fail to register before the deadline, their abstract(s) will not be included in the scientific program or the Abstract Book.

9. Submission of an abstract represents a commitment to either attend the congress or send a knowledgeable substitute who is qualified to present and answer questions regarding the reported work.

10. Abstract changes will be possible only until the abstract submission deadline.

11. The invitation to submit an abstract does not constitute an offer to cover travel, accommodation, or registration costs associated with the congress.

1. All abstracts must be written in English.

2. The length of the abstract titleis limited to 20 words and should be submitted using the Sentence case – only the first letter of the first word is capitalized (and any proper nouns as well, e.g. Amsterdam, Europe, etc.).

3. The number of co-authors is limited to 10. Please have the following details about your co-authors prepared for the submission: full name, title, e-mail address, and affiliation (institution, department, city, country). Submission of the abstract constitutes the consent of all co-authors to publication in the congress program and Abstract Book.

4. A short biography of the presenting author is required and should not exceed 100 words.

5. The abstract text is limited to 400 words and the required structure is as follows: Introduction, Material & Method, Results, Discussion.

6. Please have your abstract checked for correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and formal structure. ISMST reserves the right to edit abstracts, if necessary, before publication.

7. You will be asked to state whether the abstract was published or presented at another congress.

8. The disclosure statement should be filled in. If your study has been sponsored, please name the institution or the company that was involved.

9. For evaluation purposes, you will be asked to specify your professional background and state the type of technology you are using (including the company and device names).

10. Up to 2 pictures/charts/tables can be included within the abstract text. Supported file types are PNG, GIF, JPG, and JPEG. Charts and tables can only be inserted in the format stated above.
